It really got me thinking about my own values for Team Suzanne and how living those values daily serves my clients, my subscribers, and my life. We often get so busy marketing, strategizing, and serving that we don’t take the time to identify our core values for the business. I think this is one of the most important visions I have created for myself lately and when you can stay on track with your business values, you naturally help more people and make more money. It is really key to have them in writing so that you can be reminded of your purpose. … Continue reading →

We all get busy, overwhelmed, and frustrated. When your mission gets marginalized by life, you can revisit these and get back on track.

Here are the values of Team Suzanne! I am proud to say that I strive to work and live by these daily as does my office and support team:

Always more. Provide all that we can to change people’s lives and businesses. More support, more help, more love, more gratitude, and more accountability. Keep providing MORE.

Gratitude. Take time in every transaction and with every client to be thankful.

Equality. Treat every client, customer, and subscriber with the same high level of support, service, and love no matter what package or program they participate in.

Own it. We are 100% responsible for all that happens at Team Suzanne. The good, the bad, wins, losses, mistakes, and opportunities. Own all of it.

Model. Be a model for those we serve by never giving up, always learning, and supporting people unconditionally.

Think Big. Playing small does not serve anyone. We can only help more people if we are raising our standards, our vision, and our own bar for success.

Play. What’s the point of anything if not fully, deeply, and richly enjoyed. Play more!

Be fearless. Even in the face of uncertainty and possible failure we do it anyway. Embracing fear is the key success component.

Ask. Always ask what our clients and customers want. Be on a continual quest to over serve.

Honesty. Tell the truth even when it loses us money, time, or resources. Be an open company that values integrity.

A defined and specific set of values can be one of the best ways you serve your clients, market your services, and change the world!

Visit church with a friend you’ll be recruited to come back. Walk through the mall and Auntie Ann’s will recruit you to have a pretzel sample. As human beings it is in our nature to recruit. We are not solitary human beings…which is why everyone is born with a natural ability to sale. So stop for a moment and think about who is recruiting you. I constantly see individuals who don’t show up, want to quit, and don’t ask for help find it easier to recruit other people into believing that a program isn’t working or they will not succeed or “it’s not your fault … it’s the coach, the program, the people, the style”.

We are all being recruited all the time. Walk through the airport and you’ll be recruited for credit cards.

Misery loves company.

And I get it. When you aren’t getting the results you want you would rather it be someone else’s fault. You would rather it be something outside of yourself than your inaction or own cycle of quitting. We want to feel like we are a part of something bigger. So, when you have that spouse, friend, colleague sharing with you WHY something is not working for you or will not work for you …

Ask these questions:

Is this individual taking 100% responsibility for themselves.

Am I taking 100% responsibility for myself?

If quitting were not an option what would my next step be?

How does this gossip help me?

How can I support this person–people in deep pain recruit others to fail or quit with them.

And then ask where is this person in the cycle of quitting?

We are always being recruited … and it can be fun – pretzel samples are nice, but it can also be “support” disguised as intellectual bullying when someone tries to stop your experience or qualify why it will not work for you. Just ask yourself the questions above, pause, breathe, and reach for support and perspective. As my good friend, Matthew Goldfarb, says all the time – “It’s ok to fit in, but it’s better to stand out.”

Here are the four … Continue reading →

Most service providers and helping professionals, coaches, consultants, or change agents get into business by accident.

Here is how it often looks:

Sally is unhappy.
She wants to change her life.
She seeks support to change her life.
She gets it.
She likes it.
She wants to give back — wants to be a part of the same.
Uh oh — now I am in business.

And then what happens next becomes a series of decisions towards growing or dying. The self-help you received that got you moving, taking action, and being the person that wants to bring that to others becomes the monster under the bed.

You believe all you have learned, but in business you have to model it. You have to live it as a model or business is very lonely and a lonely business is a broke business.

Here are the four areas that I see self-help folks not helping themselves, and it is not only hurting their business it is killing an industry from its highest level of transformation:

1. Paranoia.

There isn’t enough. Lack. Fear of Competition. You can’t teach abundance and then make decisions from a place of fear that others might be taking your share. Are you aware there is no competition? IF you are being who you really are and not an imitation of that person then you are aware competition does not exist.

2. Pseudo-Celebrity.

There is a belief that if I can feel or look important, I can get attention and money. The truth is, you are only important when you represent you true self. No celebrity status will ever feel as good as real feels.

3. Wrong reasons.

Most people get into business by love or accident. There is something you love doing so much that you want to do it all the time OR something was fulfilled or changed on you, and you want to carry that help and healing forward. So, here the problem presents itself. You do the work for the love, attention, healing, or transforming YOU need. Not the help or support THEY need. When you use your business to fill a void no one gets served.

4. Motivation.

You should only have two motivations. Care and Cash. Gary V says if you want to have a great business that serves and makes lots of money — care about people. Take the focus off of all the BS and things that don’t matter and focus on what does. Care about people and build a model that makes cash. Everything else is your ego manipulating the self-help you need.

Business is simple. Life is simple. Success is simple.

But if your intentions and motivations are wrong you can’t serve anyone. You are only serving yourself. Self-help should start by helping themselves first. If you want to change the world you start by changing yours.

Money commands respect.

Money deserves attention.

Money responds to love.

I love to talk about money. I particularly love to talk about the impact money can have on people, the planet, and change. Most of you are reading this because you want to make more money and you want to make a difference. Making a difference starts with your behavior. It launches from how you respect money. Money is energy and the greater respect you have, the more vibrant that energy returns to you. Prosperity is simple:

1. Honor commitments. When you agree to pay for a service, product, program, or item, follow through. Pay your bills on time if you expect others to pay you.

2. 100% responsibility. When “shit” happens, and it will, take 100% responsibility for your finances and communicate with people. People that show up and are willing will always work problems out.

3. Treat your business like a business. GMAC Mortgage, Ford Motor Credit, and Capital One do not let people dishonor their obligations — why would service providers? We certainly do not have to behave like Big Brother, but we could learn a few things about having policies and procedures about payments in our business.

4. Hold the space. My business requires people to meet their obligations and commitments. We always work with people that are willing and responsive, but if not we have standard operating procedures legally. We treat our business like a real business.

5. Pass your money on. Everyone talks about charitable giving, but I am talking about non-charitable. How much do you tip? Do you spread the wealth? Do you know that giving brings you more? (Even when it does NOT give you a tax break?)

6. Love your money. Watch it. Keep an eye on it. Make sure it has a house that takes care of it and brings more of it to you. Track your money and protect your money.

7. Don’t play dumb. Money likes smart people. It likes you to know where it is, how it behaves, and where it goes. The fastest way to go broke is to not know how your money is performing.

8. Do the hard stuff. Talk to clients and customers about their bills, what they owe, and hold the truth about money. When you shy away from money issues with your clients, you shy away from abundance.

Money is not the most important thing in the world, but touches everything that is. If you aren’t paying your bills or holding the space for your clients to pay theirs, you are out of money alignment.

Money commands respect.

Money deserves attention.

Money responds to love.

http://www.helpmorepeople.com/minicourse.htm Where you are right now is where you have chosen to be. Take a moment to think about that. Depending on where you are, this may feel amazing, but it might not feel so great. Your mindset is an incredibly important part of the business building game. Moreover, it is directly related to the impact that you’re going to have in this world. There are five basic questions you must ask yourself when building a business or looking to take an existing business to the next level. These are all related to mindset. 1.) Are you afraid of “messing up”? In other words, are you waiting to take action because you don’t want to fail? 2.) Is building your business really overwhelming?
Where you are right now is where you have chosen to be.

Do you find yourself not knowing where to start sometimes… or maybe even a lot of the time?

3.) Do you compare yourself to others? This one’s really important. Do you find yourself comparing yourself to what’s coming into your inbox? Are you looking at what other people have in their ezines or what they have accomplished and basing your self-worth off of that?

4.) Do you believe (without hesitation) that you have the ability to make multiple six figures and beyond?

5.) Are you so certain in your sales conversion calls that you close at over 90%?

If you answered “yes” to #1, #2, or #3, or “no” to #4 or #5 (essentially negative responses implying a lack of confidence in your business), it is time to take a hard look at your belief system in regards to building your business – because today you decide where you will be in the very near future. It is up to you.

First, it is important to know that there is no competition. People often come up to me and say that they really want to do something but that there are so many other people already doing it, that they aren’t sure if it’s what they should do.

What people forget quite frequently is that there can only be one YOU! Do you know how many marketing and mindset coaches there are out there? There are hundreds, if not thousands, if not tens of thousands of them out there – but there is no one doing it like me. There is no one else doing it “Help More People” style. Likewise, no one can do what you do like you can.

Let go of the idea of competition. There is no competition. The only competition you will find is a manufactured competition that you have created.

Another issue people have related to mindset is that they wait for everything to be “just right” to launch a product or to even start their business at all. This kind of perfectionism holds people back from helping people, making money, and really making a difference in the world.

There’s a great Marianne Williamson quote that says, “Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.” It also doesn’t serve your family, your spouse, or your church, or your community, or your friends.

I often hear people saying “I would do this, but I have to take care of my 95 year old mother,” or “I would do this but I have three toddlers at home,” and many other excuses beginning with “I would do this but…”

But by playing small, not being in the right mindset, not asking for clients, not marketing yourself, or putting all the pieces together, you are being a terrible example for your children, community, family, friends, etc. When you are a leader and you step up and build a business that makes a difference in this world, you change everyone’s mindset, and indeed you change the world.

So many people want to change the world, but fail to realize that the only person they can directly change is themselves. You must start with your own mindset. Your sales conversions, your ability to make money, whether or not you are comparing yourself to others or not, and any uncertainty that you’re experiencing are all reflections of your belief in what is possible for you.

When I decided to get my “mind set” in the right direction – notice that I used two words, mindset is really about getting your mind set in the right way – everything started to come together for me. Treat your belief in yourself like a thermostat and not a thermometer. You set it where you want it to be.

When I realized and began implementing this, clients literally started finding me. My belief in myself was firm. People want to be around that. No one wants to surround themselves with uncertainty and insecurity.

Continually ask yourself, how are you showing up? People are attracted to authority – authority inspired!

Where you are right now is where you have chosen to be.

I often get told that someone is waiting to start their business or one of my programs or make a change when the time is right. Without being disrespectful, it is laughable. Laughable for a few reasons: First, to believe that we are actually in that much control. Second, to believe that there is anything more than just a delay in your destiny is out of integrity. And third, if you have thought it even for a nanosecond then the time is now. Accurate thinking will tell you that life is just a series of moments and the more you wait, the more well, you wait. I know it seems simple, but that’s because it is. I don’t think there is a right time for someone to die anymore than there is a right time for someone to be born. … Continue reading →

I don’t think you meditate or ponder the right time to launch a business or get the help you need.

You feel and then do it.

Yep – you might think that can get you in trouble. Feel it, do it, and don’t think it. I will tell you the trouble it has gotten me in is the best kind- I was moving forward. And, so maybe I looked a little foolish or wasn’t quite ready, but the payoff was action. The reward was no more waiting.

I know some of you are scared…and that’s why it doesn’t seem like the right time. I feel you. Fear is the biggest factor in waiting. Fear will always make you wonder.

So, for those…

Who wanted off my list a while back when I said get off your ass in an email, I wonder why that struck you so deeply? Have you been sitting on your rear a bit too long?

So, for those…

Who started a program and quit or didn’t follow through, I wonder why you forgot that I believed in you until you could believe in yourself?

So, for those…

Who have blamed others for not making the money they wanted or having the success they desire, I wonder who hurt you that you have not yet forgiven?

So, for those…

Who said next time I will get the support I need, but for now I am not ready, I wonder why you do not see your magnificent possibility?

So, for those…

Who want to change the world, I ask you are you willing to first change YOUR world?

There is only one right time. And you are living in it as you read this. At the end of this newsletter go make the boldest decision you have ever made. This is the right time, and you have my love, confidence, and support.

I think the greatest tragedy in life is not sharing your movement or your unique ability with others and the world. From that movement is your deep seated WHY or what I call so that… Why did I want to make a million? It’s just a number. Why do you want 20 clients? It’s just a number. But when you understand your why, your so that, your legacy it no longer becomes a number … it becomes a mission. And when you are on a mission money is easy.

I know that might tick some of you off, but it is. It flows. It shows up. Opportunities expand and grow without your hard work.

So, you must get clear.

WHY are you in business?

WHAT do you want to change?

WHAT legacy will your business leave behind? and…

FOR WHOM?

In the words of P Diddy, “Don’t chase the paper. Chase the dream”. I have a dream for women and men to have no shame about money. The are empowered by making money because they know they are the global thought leaders in the world that will use that money to create change and positive growth. I want the right people making millions because I know they will make a difference. I know my legacy is to give people the hope of being financially free through their business and the specific formula to get there. I know my legacy is to help make millionaires that have legacies that will share that wealth to live their own abundant lives and share that with others.

When you know your WHY – you can ask anyone to work with you. No fear.

When you understand your legacy – you are driven to make money. No fear.

When you are clear about what you want to change none of this feels like work. No fear.

If you have been struggling with your business or making money (even a little) knowing and owning your legacy will set you free. You will know your why, understand your legacy, and be clear about what you want to change.

Leaders are key in business and motivation, but if you truly want to make money you need to be a follower. I was thinking of two very special clients tonight who have experienced some very massive success in 6 months. When Paige and Brian came to me they were barely getting by (and this is NO exaggeration). They needed help in their business and they needed direction. From our first session I was pretty tough with them. But, I also loved them from the first five minutes of our call. I told them they had to do exactly what I asked them to. Period. That’s how I coach.

First, they had to come up with the money to coach with me. I gave them some hard tasks to do that. CHECK

Second, they had to change their business focus and niche. CHECK

Next, they had to leave their house and speak to strangers if necessary to get clients immediately. CHECK

They had to have income to fund their business even if it meant a part time job. CHECK.

They needed to listen to my marketing ideas and implement them immediately. CHECK.

Finally, they had to agree to not always understand why I told them to do something, but trust me 100% and do it. CHECK.

I could go on and on, but the point is they did exactly what I asked them to do every single time I asked them to do it. They have called me in tears, in cheers, in confusion, and in clarity, but always with an absolute trust and a willingness to follow. When I was growing my business I did the same:

I found a mentor that was patient, loving, and kind – she told me what to do… I did it 100% and grew my business to over six figures.

Next, I worked with a marketing master and did the same. Even in fits of frustration I did everything he said and grew my business to over $300,000.

Finally, I worked with my current mentor and again, I humbly agreed to be the best follower to ever be doing exactly what he suggested and I earned 7 figures in revenue.

What I have learned is most people would rather be right than rich. They would rather ask questions than obediently take action. Are you doing all that is asked of you by your coach and mentor – and I don’t mean most – I mean EVERYTHING? Because it takes 100% commitment to follow and take action on exactly what they share has worked for them. Why would you work with someone and then not take their advice and direction? What does it say about you that you invest (or don’t invest at all) and then ignore the information?

Paige and Brain got it and now they have regular 5 figure months. Being a follower pays off and it keeps paying off. They emailed me to say they want to renew the current program they are in (it doesn’t even end until July) but they wanted me to know now.

I responded – you will always have a seat at my table. No reservations needed.

You see followers want to hang out with other followers because they know the key to success. Thank you, Paige and Brian, for reminding me of what works. To be a leader you must be a great follower.

The only way to make business and money is to sell your services. The way to spread your message is to market. They work and they are necessary, but they are tools… they are not strategy. They are tools… they are not the gift to share.

In all of the marketing hype and sales solutions we have lost sight of our most singular purpose and skill – US. The people.

The movement inside of us to be the change, to shape the world, and to help more people.

Do you know your message? Do you understand the purpose you are to live and share with others? I have been asking people and they are getting a bit stuck – see they put all their focus on the ezines, and the sales copy, blogging, and social media. They focused on learning skills and left behind the calling to serve. Again, don’t get me wrong, I am not shutting down my Twitter account – what better way to get my message out! But, I have to put the message before the marketing. I have to launch the movement above the business model.

Stop Marketing… just for a moment. Can you hear what you are here to change? Pause. Clarify. Identify why. Stop Marketing. Start a Movement.
