    Amen to this Suzanne! Love the “need to know who the buck stops with”… so very true. Having been on both sides of the coin – there is nothing worse for a team member than trying to “read your mind” because they aren’t sure what their client (or employer) wants from them, specifics re: deliverables and such. And your gut is the best hiring tool ever – we used to say that back when I was a recruiter (over 10 years ago now – gak!) “if you hire for skills alone, you’ll fire for personality”. Skills can be taught, personality can’t – the best people i’ve worked with over the years (for my own biz and also for my clients) are those who truly didn’t have skills at the start but had the attitude to jump in and learn and do whatever it takes.
