Fat, Gay, & Broke

May I be the first to point out my obvious obstacles and some just may surprise you! LOL

Yep, I am overweight.

Yep, I am gay.

Yep, I was broke.

And I had no business skills, was unsure of my purpose, and was working over 60 hours a week in a day job. I had excuses. I had obstacles. I had a potty mouth and I am really opinionated. While growing the business I also lost three family members. I lost team members. I can’t use technology. I was in debt big time, too.

I am sure I have left some things out, but here it is all in one big list for all to see. Something on the list may even offend you, but the list is me. In all the truth, vulnerability, and imperfection.

You either do it or you don’t. All the business building, marketing classes, social media spin offs, and mindset adjustments in the world will not help you make money or make a difference if you decide to let the obstacles be in control. If you choose excuses and blame over action you will stay stuck. If you choose what’s wrong over what’s possible it will be impossible.

Ask yourself where you fall. Ask yourself the real heart of the WHY you aren’t where you want to be and how many people, reasons, and obstacles are you blaming. I had to do it. I had to do it no matter what because I wasn’t going to live this life playing small. I wasn’t going to live this life not having lived my dreams. I want the same for you -I want you to do it despite your circumstances. I want you to do it despite your situation.

Life is unpredictable.

All your plans will change.

You will fail. And you can get back up.

If I can do it fat, gay, and broke – you can do it. GO change the world, but start by changing yours. If you are waiting to be perfect, you are actually keeping people from an experience of learning from you now and just the way you are. Your flaws are your relevance and your obstacles are your guide posts to success. Stop cursing the pain of growth and change. Start celebrating that you can feel it and that you are living it. If in this moment you are comfortable then you aren’t stretching big enough.

Take a no excuses approach. There is no other way to make this all work.

This was a great article! Thanks for being you! Everytime I read through your articles, etc. I’m starting to realize that I don’t have to have one certain niche and to be okay with not having everything in place – which is my biggest problem (I actually put my website on here, even though it’s not complete – good for me.. :o) Also, thanks for being open about your lifestyle. I’ve been in my relationship for 10 years and married for 1 year and I can’t ask for a better partner ever! I hope to talk to young people who have been either molested or raped and just feel like they have to be the worst person ever – but I want them to know that I totally understand – (been there) and that life can be great! You can overcome any obstacles and be your authentic self and the most awesome person ever! Take back your power, your joy! lol – okay I’m done…
